Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She co-founded The Huffington Post the founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global and the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington is a writer TV personality, philanthropist, and the owner of the independent liberal online news magazine The Huffington Post. Following her move from Greece to England from Greece at 16 and obtaining an MA in Economics at Cambridge University. In her 21st year, she was president of the renowned debating society The Cambridge Union' and was the first non-native student who was elected to this position. Being a conservative syndicated blog, after graduating she was able to be a voice of the Huffington Post. It was her celebrity that has led to the attraction of many well-known contributors for posting their views on current events, politics and culture. Arianna was famous when she made the decision in 2003 to run as an Independent candidate for the California Recall Election to replace the Governor Davis. Arianna was also part of a Detroit-based project that promoted efficient vehicles that use less fuel. Forbes placed her at 12 on its list for the Most Influential Media Women. Guardian also included the Huffington Post in their Top 100 list in 2010. AOL, Inc. made her the President of their media group in 2011 following the acquired The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post included other AOL brands, including Engadget AOLmusic Style list and Patch Media. Elli Stasinopoulos is a daughter born to Konstantinos a management advisor and journalist. She was extremely close to her father, but it was her bond with her mother who has shaped her. Even as a young girl she displayed leadership qualities which she is still renowned for. When she was 16 years old, she moved over to the United Kingdom for her higher education. In Girton College Cambridge. As a student and was in Cambridge Union, she joined the debate societies in the college which she later became the first foreign female president. In 1972, she earned an honorary degree in Economics. Following her degree she became a columnist, critic as well as a TV host. Her appearance in Face the music with Bernard Levin was a notable one. She started writing books, taking his help for editing.
