Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She is a founder of The Huffington Post and the chief executive officer of Thrive Global. Author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is an author TV personality, philanthropist, and the owner of the independent free online news publication The Huffington Post. Originating from Greece she relocated to England at the age of sixteen and then was able to graduate from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. At 21 she became head of the famous debate society The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign student in the history of Cambridge University to be elected. In the years following her graduation, she became a well-known right-wing syndicated reporter. A few more years later she created The Huffington Post which featured criticism of the present politics. The fame of Arianna led to the recruitment of a variety of renowned contributors. Arianna gained notoriety after she was elected as an independent candidate in the California recall elections to replace Governor Davis. Also, she was the head of the Detroit automobile project that was fuel efficient. Forbes listed her as the most influential woman in media in 2009. The newspaper was ranked as in the 12th spot on Forbes' list. The Guardian also included her on the list of 100 most influential media for 2009. In 2011 AOL Inc. acquired The Huffington Post and made the president of that media group which included many existing AOL properties too such as Engadget AOL music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli was the son of Konstantinos the journalist and management consultant. Her character was formed through her relationship with her mother, and the bond she shared with her dad, despite being extremely close to him. From her early years, she demonstrated leadership skills that remain highly respected. At the age of 16, she returned to the UK to study and enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. She enrolled in Cambridge Union, the Cambridge Union college debate society throughout her college years and was the third and first female to serve as the president. She graduated in 1972 with a master's degree in Economics. Her career as a journalist and television host started after her graduation. Also, she appeared on the series Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books with editorial assistance from Bernard Levin.
