April Ross, a beach volleyball star from the United States She is one of a small group of women who have won medals in more than one Olympics. Alix Klineman has become a brand new Olympian and will join the team in Tokyo. Ross's dream is to earn her first Olympic gold medal. The next time she has the chance to do so at the age of 39. Ross was a Californian born in Costa Mesa, California in 1982. She grew up in Costa Mesa with her father, mother and younger sister. Along with playing in numerous sports, Ross also attended Newport Harbor High School. While a prep student she played basketball, indoor volleyball as well as running track. She was definitely superior to the rest in the latter sport. According to her bio, she was an outside blocker as well as a middle hitting volleyball player during her high-school career. Gatorade Circle Of Champions named her as the National Player in 1999. The 2000 Orange County Athlete of the Month award was also won by her in volleyball. Ross has been playing with Klineman since 2017. However, Ross's beach game had been established long before the year. Misty Maytreanor (Jennings) and Misty Maytreanor won gold, overtaking them. The fate of the matter was that Ross became Walsh Jennings' new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. Together, they won beach volleyball bronze for the Rio Olympics in the year the year 2016. Ross was a student athlete with the Trojans of USC prior to starting her professional career. She was a player in high school, and even before hitting the beach as a professional. Her time at USC was impressive. In her first year at the school, 2000 was when she won the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Freshman's of the award and become an All-American. In addition, she helped her Trojans to make it to the Final Four. Her personal life was tense after a devastating loss during her sophomore year, yet was capable of achieving the All-American award. Ross's mom Margie passed away in 2001 when Ross was still an USC sophomore. The cancer was diagnosed as breast. Ross holds her mother dear. Margie has inspired her in her life and on the beaches.
